FINAL GIRL explores the slasher flicks of the '70s and '80s...and all the other horror movies I feel like talking about, too. This is life on the EDGE, so beware yon spoilers!

The Wednesday Something Something

Big stuff...big stuff aujourd'hui, mes amis. BIG STUFF I SAY. You know the drill:

Over yonder at AMC, I talk a bit about what makes a scary mask a scary mask and not...uh, an unscary mask, I guess. If you'd like to see some unscary stuff, check out Ye Olde Final Girl Hall of Infamy. Oh Gene Shalit, how I adore thee.

Episode 3 of Ghostella's Haunted Tomb is up and at 'em! Check it out, they made me a fancy graphic:

Pretty nice, n'est-ce pas? This week's episode is a real doozy. Tune in as everyone's favorite Guinevere, Guinevere Turner, discovers...Who's Been in the Herb Garden?

Now, perhaps the biggest news of all! Fangoria is hitting Secaucus, New Jersey on June 20-22 for yet another Weekend of Horrors and I, yes I, have 4, yes 4, one-day passes to giveaway to you, yes you! Check out the guest list and if it strikes your fancy, enter my big Fangoria Ticket giveaway. Send me an email: stacieponder at gmail dot com by midnight, June 14 with FANGO in the subject line. Winners will be drawn completely at random, but feel free to send cookies anyway. See how much I care?

In other news...

Talk about your hyphenates. Stacie Ponder, author-auteuse-game show host. The mind reels.

What jumps right out at me is that 70% of the Fango guest list means absolutely nothing to me.

And didn't Art Hindle get old?!

And Steve Gonsalves from Ghost Hunters!

Wow, Guinevere Turner you say? Nice work. You should do some guerilla cameo casting: try and catch Wallace Shawn or Tracey Gold walking out of 7-11 and incorporate it somehow into an episode. You could even dub in their dialog.

My thoughts on the latest ep went something like:

"Hey, new Ghostella episode, how nice... sweet babyback Jesus, that's Guinevere Turner! Guinevere Turner's in a Ghostella episode! Guinevere Turner! How awesome is that? Pretty awesome. That's really nice-looking rosemary. I should make that rosemary-and-garlic marinade this weekend."

I'm easily distracted. But. Guinevere Turner. Awesome.

If you make a Mrs. Garrett mask in time for Halloween '08, I will give you $5000 and a hi-five!

I would also buy a dozen of them if you put them into production.

A bit off topic.

What do you think about that new NBC "show" "Fear Itself"?

Are there any other Guinevere's? *snicker*

Love the latest Ghostella...See, gardening obsessions are unhealthy (not saying she got what she deserved or anything...)

-as Mrs. Garrett- Girls...Giiiirls!

Mrs. Garrett was easily the most terrifying thing about that post. Remember when they were out of school and they were running that gift shop? That was weird.

I'll never forget Charlotte Rae for her groundbreaking musical performance in The Worst Witch

I must say, I love your piece over at AMC on the movie masks. And, I'm so excited about The Strangers myself.

Have fun & many kudos,

This post left me hanging...as if the picture of Charlotte Rae was suggesting that she had passed away...

This blog is great! I have so many friends in the industry that are horror film freaks...and now I can brush up on my very limited knowledge of horror flicks!
Bravo!

I wasn't able to watch Ghostella's Haunted Tomb first thing on Wednesday night this week. But I have an excuse, I was busy watching American Psycho for the first time! So I watched Ghostella last night.

It's been a very good week!
