FINAL GIRL explores the slasher flicks of the '70s and '80s...and all the other horror movies I feel like talking about, too. This is life on the EDGE, so beware yon spoilers!

I can't decide...

...and therefore I need your help. I just came across this poster for Evil Dead 2 and I can't make up my mind if it's the best thing ever or the worst thing ever. The woman in the corner makes it tricky. Can you make up your mind?

Stallone was in Evil Dead 2?

I think it is a horrible poster, but it would make the most awesome beach towel evah!

I think we've all thought at some point in time and can all agree that the only thing that could have made Evil Dead II better would be if Ash wore beef jerky pants. Whoever made this poster actually did something about it.

They are the best of us all.

Bravo.

Have to agree with Jayson, it looks more like Sly than Bruce. That said, imagining Stallone in the role of Ash is giving me goosebumps of excitment! What a remake that could be!?

Best ever! This is one of the Ghanaian posters collected in the book Extreme Canvas, which everyone should read. As I recall, they had a similarly baffling poster for Child's Play as well.

Beef jerky pants FTW!

It looks like it was painted on a set of sheets. I want those sheets.

Win.

I think it's the greatest artistic achievement a 14-year-old heavy metal stoner could aspire to, so I have to vote yes. You need to encourage young people in these troubled times.

I was thinking of buying some beef jerky pants (I like to be as tasty and stylish as possible), but I'm a little worried. If you wash a pair of beef jerky pants, won't they rehydrate and become beef pants? I think regular beef pants might be a bit uncomfortable, and could also turn off the ladies.

This some of Napoleon Dynamite's best work yet.

i must admit to having a number of Ghanaian posters posters in my collection (if you get a chance to hunt down the "i hate my village" poster do it) but the ED2 one just plain sucks.

It's awful...but I can't look away!

Andreas is right about the Extreme Canvas book... oftentimes the artists would have very limited pictorial reference to go on... the poster for 'Cujo' is certainly one to check out, the artist clearly having been told, 'It's about a Mom, her son and a dog... now go make a poster'

You can see it and some other examples here: http://uraniumcafe-the.com/2009/11/06/extreme-canvas-hand-painted-movie-posters-from-ghanas-mobile-cinema-period/

Stallone was in ED2 with Rosanne Barr? It's not the worst, but I voted "worst" because it's closer to "worst" than to "best". Since ED2 was played for laughs, it's OK for the poster to be so wacky.

I think Andrew Zimmern ate beef jerky pants and that flying thing from the poster on the Ghana episode of "Bizarre Foods".

Who's laughing NOW?
Oh wait, that was The Evil Dead the musical on Broadway...

There's something Karen Black about the broad in the corner, which I like.

I like the idea of stallone as Ash, he could do "Groovy" proper justice. The art style of the poster is to me an appealing rude version. It reminds me of old circus and freakshow posters.

There's something "Zuni fetish doll" about the bat thing in the sky, which I don't like....
