SHOCKtober ahoy!

Holy crapping crap, it's that time of the year again! Yes, the best time. The Halloween time. The time when everyone becomes a horror fan. The time when you might see an old woman purchasing a bag of skulls at Target. The time when you buy a 10lb bag of candy "for the children" knowing full well that you will eat 9.88lbs of it yourself. Like I said, THE BEST TIME.

It's also busy season for most of us horror blogging folk, and I try to be no exception. But what to do? I think my idea is an okay one, and surely it will drive me mad by the end of THE BEST MONTH...but it'll be worth it. I mean, I'll have 9.88lbs of candy to sooth my jangled nerves. Unless all that sugar actually jangles 'em all up even worse, but you know what? I don't care. Because at Stately Final Girl Manor, we live on the edge.

OF SANITY HA HA AMIRITE

Okay. Surely you remember the epicosity of SHOCKtober 2010, right? Where I asked you guys to send me a list of your 20 favorite horror movies and I'd thought that would result in a master list of like 80 movies but instead the list was 732 movies long? Yeah, that SHOCKtober. Well, here is the haps for 2012:

I've chosen 31 films from that master list and plopped 'em into a schedule. Each day I'll be talking about one of the movies in some capacity- sometimes a review, sometimes...who the crap knows...and I hope that YOU will be talking about the day's pick as well. Whether it's on the Final Girl Facebook page, in the comments here, or on your own site, I'd sure like SHOCKtober '12 to be like a month-long blog-a-thon Film Club spectacular spooktacular. That's right, this is also the time of year when people make stupid puns like "spooktacular". IT'S THE BEST!

Now then, let me say this much: I want to link to your content, should you have any, each day. You can email me links at stacieponder (at) gmail (dot) com. But it's going to be a nutcake month for me outside of this nutcake stunt, so I'm already asking for your patience. Depending on when I receive them, some links might take a few hours to be added. And so, you can also leave a link in the comments on the Facebook page when I post my piece. Is that confusing? Sorry. I'm just saying, time is tight for me at the moment, so don't flip out.

In the meantime, here is the schedule for the month- the films I'll be discussing on each date- so you can totes plan accordingly. Do what you want each day, if anything!
